Station 11: Jesus is nailed to the cross
By Ann Greazel
As the nails are hammered and driven into the flesh and bone of Jesus and the blood pours from His body, He is experiencing the most intense pain, a pain that we do not know. It is at this time that he says for us to live, a prayer to God that saves us: “Lord, forgive them, for they know not what they do.”
Jesus forgives us and asks His Father, our creator and Lord to have mercy on us. And yet we still see the effects today, of an individualistic culture. We see terrorism and hate. We are called to share God’s story and message. We are called to recognize Him through our suffering.
What ways can I show Jesus that his forgiveness means more than words? His mercy rains on us. Thank you and praise you, Jesus. May we bring up more people in the world to see your face, Amen.
